From Cylinder, Iowa"Carol Gorman did a marvelous job of speaking to over 600 4th-graders at our Young Writer's Conference! Her format was well-organized and meaningful to 4th-graders. She shared her secrets of getting ideas for writing from personal experience, modeled hooking readers as a writer, and then encouraged students to write hooks of their own. The students left the event motivated to read and write, and teachers made these comments on their evaluations:

"Carol Gorman was an excellent presenter at our school! The students were very interested in her stories and had many questions for her. Her writer's workshop was wonderful and the students really enjoyed the one-on-one time that she gave them. Her visit has generated a lot of interest in writing and reading! We are so fortunate to have had Carol visit our school! "-- Brenda Young, Library Media Specialist, Rosehill Elementary School, Omaha, Nebraska.
